I'm starting to get worried about this idea of doing a kick count. (Damn you, Google!) I have been reading a lot of birth stories lately that mentioned that because their placentas were towards the mothers belly, not back, they felt little movement until towards the end of the second trimester, and even after that not a lot of movement. I had my 4th (and hopefully last) ultrasound of the pregnancy yesterday. After all the measurements were taken my boy is weighing in at 7lbs 1oz (I'm 35w 4d). The doctor said that's a little ahead of schedule but not terrible. I know that with an anterior placenta, the movements from the baby are absorbed quite a bit by the placenta. Is it always this way? As he gets bigger, will I continue to feel him more and more or will the movements always seem "muffled"? I feel so clueless since this is my first pregnancy.

First we had our appointment with the OB. His intern did the first part of the visit, including listening to the heartbeat.
